Well-conducted research is vital to the success of the RVC and our endeavors. Not only does research form the foundation of our program development and policies but it can also be translated into effective programs at the Rural Vitality Center.
The RVC is partnered with the Center for Public Partnerships and Research (CPPR) to evaluate Key Indicators to test the efficacy of the our data driven navigation platform. Our data ecosystem can be used in experience and phenomenologically- based research including observation, conversations, action research, focus groups and more. Our eight assessment tools can be used along side every experience and will offer interactive dashboards for individual's, communities, families and schools.
Our first research partnership included The RIKI Institute,. The RIKI Institute was established in 2013 by Dr Fiene after a long career at Penn State University where he was professor of psychology and human development. Dr Fiene, a research psychologist, established RIKI in order to consolidate all research being conducted on differential monitoring, regulatory compliance prediction, key indicators and risk assessment matrices, all methodologies he developed in the late 1970’s and have evolved over the past 5 decades into a comprehensive Early Childhood Program Quality Improvement and Indicator Model (ECPQI2M). Presently RIKI and NARA – National Association for Regulatory Administration have an exclusive agreement disseminating and the future development of Dr Fiene’s regulatory compliance methodologies.
Another RVC Key partnership includes (CEEL) Center for Education, Evaluation and Leadership. This partnership will allow us to work closely with members of our Education task force and our three partnered school districts to offer data and research support, feedback to help communities, families and schools address and improve accessibility, knowledge gaps and barriers.
